Dear Collector, Don't do it, Jim Davidson is a fictioous artist and any sculptures sold with his name on them are legal violations of the original aritist`s (not Jim Davidson's) copyrights. All of the pieces with the signature of Jim Davidson should be looked at skeptically and if you want to read anything about the artist's he (they) have violated please visit our website www.bronzecopyright.com and you will find a source to purchase the real deal not the illegal copies. This crap may be cheep but it's because it's made of copper and lead not bronze and will not stand the test of outdoor weather. Please please please, make yourself aware of the knockoff world of art, it is extremely damaging to the real artists, and please inform anyone else looking for a sculpture to visit our website before investing any money.

Dear Collector, I hate to inform you no matter what other responses you have received about the identity of Jim Davidson, he is a ficticious artist. This supposive artist has knocked off numerous real sculptors and the pieces sold with his name on them are from Thailand, cast out of yellow copper (a low grade metal) not bronze. Basically you have been taken. We have directly been knocked off by this scam artist and are trying to find the direct source of his inseption, so if you are not to upset by this information, I would like to hear if someone claiming to be Jim Davidson has surfased. A collection of original artists have come together to stop these infringements and you can visit our website at www.bronzecopyright.com. In the site you will find publications about our struggle and the (artist) Jim Davidson is discussed in one of the articles. I have heard that there is a photo of a man claiming to be Jim Davidson out there, but all the pieces claiming to be from an estate are coming from Leala Art Gallery in Thailand, and the owner of that gallery I've been told is JY Gazaway. I'm sorry to be the burden of bad news, but what they are doing is illegal and severely damaging the careers of the copyright holders of all his desings, as well as the vulnerable public. I can only give you my condolances on your purchase and hope that your next art investment will be from an original artist.

After some extensive research and several phone calls, I have definitive proof that Jim Davidson does not a exist. This name is one of several names being used by foreign foundries to produce knock-offs or downright forgeries of other sculptors' copyrighted work. I use the word foundry loosely because most of these forgeries aren't even made of bronze. They are cast in pot metal and tin. Jim Davidson is not a real person. E. Labroue is not a real person. And Leonardo Rossi is NOT a real person. Anyone using these names is nothing more than a scam-artist, forger, and copyright violator. I do not care what "Ping" or anyone else that chimes in here says about so-called "biographies" or "Jim Davidson is my father". These people DO NOT exist. The people that say they do are obviously the ones perpetrating the scam. I direct you all to www.bronzecopyright.com where you will find a coalition of 7 sculptors whose hard work has been stolen. There are photo comparisons of the originals and the knock-offs credited to the likes of Leonardo Rossi, E. Labroue and Jim Davidson with in-depth written evidence of the scam. I have spoken personally with two of these sculptors and can assure you that the person or persons using the names E. Labroue, Leonardo Rossi, and Jim Davidson are criminals and are currently under investigation. I hope this puts the last nail in the Jim Davidson coffin once and for all.

One would think that with the many questions being raised about this "artist" or "sculptor", it would be really easy to find a biography, address, website, phone number of an agent, gallery, magazine article, and a whole host of othe information that would make sense. Personally, without further proof, and I mean some real proof of existence, I will consider "Jim Davidson" to be nothing more than Remington Steele's cousin. He just doesn't seem to exist. Then I get this response...

This is obviously a foreign (to english) post. I could have typed this myself with my eyes closed. Anyone could. No sculptor putting out the type of work and volume credited to "Jim Davidson", even under a "pen name", would have no agent, noaddress, no web presence, no gallery, no contact phone number, no photo, no studio, and no press whatsoever to be found. Not ONE magazine article. Not one gallery owner that knows how to find "him". Nothing. Just a bunch of sculptures with his "pen name" name on it. You simply don't have sculptures out there selling for thousands of dollars under a "pen name" when no one person can so much as produce a live breathing body or at least a photo of one. I will continue to believe that this is a fictitous person until one, even one, single soul on this planet can provide definitive proof that "he" actually exists. Your turn.
